Evening Grounding Tonic

A calming adaptogenic ritual for winter nights

This warm, spiced drink is designed to soothe the nervous system, support digestion, and invite rest—especially helpful during colder months when Vata can feel heightened.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or oat milk

  • ½ tsp ashwagandha powder

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp cardamom

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • 1 tsp ghee or coconut oil

  • Optional: raw honey or maple syrup to taste

instructions

  1. Gently warm the milk over low heat.

  2. Whisk in ashwagandha, spices, and ghee until fully blended.

  3. Sweeten lightly if desired.

  4. Sip slowly in the evening, ideally away from screens.

Why it works

  • Ashwagandha supports resilience to stress and calms the nervous system

  • Warming spices aid digestion and circulation without overstimulation

  • Healthy fats nourish dryness and support deeper rest

This tonic is especially supportive if you experience restlessness, dry skin, or difficulty unwinding at night.

Ritual tip

Drink this in a quiet space with low lighting. Take three slow breaths before your first sip, letting the body register that it’s time to soften.
