Stewed Pears with Cardamom & Ghee

This gentle, warming dish is especially supportive if you wake with dryness, anxiety, scattered energy, or cold hands and feet. In Ayurveda, Vata thrives on warmth, moisture, and steadiness—and this recipe offers all three. Stewing pears transforms them into something soft, sweet, and grounding. Ghee adds deep nourishment, lubricating dryness while supporting digestion, and cardamom brings a subtle warmth without overstimulation. Warm, cooked foods like this help settle the nervous system and invite a sense of calm to start the day.

  • 1 ripe pear, peeled, cored, and chopped

  • 1–2 tbsp water

  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom (or 2 crushed pods)
