COCONUT MILK & TURMERIC POPSICLES

Ayurveda usually advises against very cold or frozen foods, as they can disrupt our agni, or digestive fire. However, on a hot summer day, a cooling treat can be a great way to keep fiery Pitta in check.

Consider this a summertime version of Golden Milk. Adding a touch of black pepper and cardamom will help balance the chill, while coconut milk keeps it cool and hydrating.

Ingredients

Makes 6 popsicles

  • 2 cups full-fat coconut milk

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom

  • pinch ground pepper

  • 2 TB maple syrup

InSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix the coconut milk, Turmeric, cardamom, black pepper, and maple syrup in a blender, blending on low until combined.

  2. Taste and adjust the sweetness to your liking.

  3. Pour the mixture evenly into the popsicle molds and place in the freezer until set, at least 4-6 hours. Enjoy in the sun on a hot day!
