Make Me Know You Really Care

Someone recently asked me to share a quote or phrase that sums up what I’m about. Without hesitation, I thought of David Bowie’s Moonage Daydream:
“Make me know you really care, make me jump into the air.”

That line is everything. It’s a reminder of the power of connection, of being seen. What I want—whether in my studio, on the sidewalk, or in passing—is for you to feel like you matter, like I see you.

I don’t want to move through the world with my eyes averted, pretending not to notice the people around me. I want to look up, make eye contact, smile, and say, “I see you—and you’re lovely.”

To me, enthusiasm is a kind of generosity. It’s cool to be inspired and excited about life. It’s cool to smile when you feel happy, to cry when you’re moved, to pause for the simple wonder of a ladybug on your sleeve or sunlight dancing in a puddle.

This is our life—a blip in time—and I want to feel myself living it fully: breathing, noticing, experiencing. I want to be open and real, and I want you to feel like you can do the same in my presence.

That’s what underlies my work at Marma. Whether through a facial, a workshop, or a quiet moment of conversation, my hope is to create a space where you feel deeply cared for, nourished, and seen—just as you are.

Reflective Prompts

Take a few minutes to check in with yourself. You might journal, meditate, or simply sit quietly and reflect on these questions:

  1. What am I doing to care for myself today?

  2. How am I expressing my authentic self to the world?

  3. In what ways am I supporting my own joy, play, and curiosity?

  4. Have I shared a piece of my spirit lately—my thoughts, my creativity, my presence?

  5. Where in my life could I let myself be more open, more seen, more alive?

Take your answers gently. These prompts aren’t about perfection—they’re about noticing, acknowledging, and celebrating the small, daily ways you honor your life, your joy, and your connection with others.
